One person, building the apps they wanted to exist.
Unsubbedware started as a personal reaction to opening yet another app and being asked to sign in and start a trial. The apps were built to scratch real itches; putting them on a site is just making them easy for other people to find.
The name
“Unsubbed” as in unsubscribed — from the monthly fees, the accounts, the cloud lock-in. The -ware is a nod to the freeware and shareware that these apps are descended from: small programs that did one job and trusted you to chip in if they were worth it.
Privacy
- This site runs no analytics and sets no cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts; nothing else is third-party.
- The apps have no accounts and no telemetry. They don’t report what you open or how you use them.
- The only network call an app makes is an update check — a request for a small version file. It asks before downloading anything.
- Donations go through Stripe and GitHub, who handle the payment details under their own privacy terms. Unsubbedware never sees your card number.
Source
The apps are closed source. The binaries are hosted publicly on GitHub — one repository per app — and each release publishes SHA-256 hashes so you can verify a download.

- Code-signing, so the install warning goes away.
- In-app update checks across every app.
- More apps — the list of subscriptions worth replacing is long.
